Walk with me

After having a craptastic morning I decided to take advantage of the almost warm weather and go for a walk with my dog. I got stopped three different times by people asking how I managed to walk a dog in heels, honestly i don't even notice the difference between heels and flats when i walk anymore, unless i end up on grass or sand. Which is probably where my hatred of beach and most outdoor weddings comes from, walking back and fourth across a golf course in four inch heels all day isn't my idea of fun, it's also a day I hope not to have to repeat.

My perfect black...grey trench

I've been looking for a black trench coat for at least a year or two, something classic but with some uniqueness to it. And it has to fit well, which is a big thing with me since most coats seem too wide in the shoulder.
Then yesterday I tagged along while my mom went to return some jeans my brother decided he didn't like and then I saw it, it was simple and clean and had a sort of european dollness about it and when I tried it on it fit perfectly, then I looked over and saw it's grey counterpart and I had to have it.

I also chopped all my hair off.

I don't really know how to describe this week, it wasn't great but it wasn't a week to complain about either.
I handed my resume into a few places I was interested in, none of which worked out. I can't work nights for various reasons and most places seem to have enough day staff at the moment, so the search continues. I did go shopping though and got some nice summery tops and a couple pairs of jeans, all of which was on sale. I also got a huge sack of a black sweater dress for next to nothing that I'm still figuring out how to wear, it looks cute when i belt it around my waist with my hands but i don't have a belt small enough to try it with currently.

Spring is teasing us though, it finally got warm enough to wear flats the other day and you can see bits of green starting to pop up but we're supposed to be getting 2cm of snow overnight. Not that it's un-normal, just unwanted.

...

I've always loved Balenciaga and still lust after their bags but was anyone else confused about their ready to wear collection after seeing their Spring/Summer 08 runway show?
What happened to the bold silhouettes and crisp lines?

Instead you can walk out of their store with one of these. Now I'm well aware retail versions and their runway counterparts can differ but this seems a bit much. It all look plain and un-thought about. More H&M over high fashion design house.

Spring me along

I woke up this morning with the sudden urgent wanting for spring. I wanted to open my windows, put on a flowy dress and spin merrily around in nice green field with the birds and the flowers. Then I rolled over to turn off my alarm clock and noticed the two inches of snow we've gotten in the past couple days.
I love winter, but we've had snow on the ground for almost six months, it's getting a little tiresome. You know how people always say Canada only has two seasons, Winter and not Winter? Well around here it's almost true.
So instead of letting it get me down I pushed my chair over to my closet and pulled out my box of summer clothes that was hiding in the back of my top shelf and spent the rest of the morning going through it trying to see what I needed to buy for the (hopefully) coming warm weather and combined with things I've been lusting after I came out with this.

Bright oversized clutch.
Neutral leather tote.
Black/White oxfords.
Plain vneck shirts.
Black trench coat.
Skirts including at least one high waisted one.
Light flowy tops in warm colours.
Gladiator sandals.
Motorcycle jacket.

Now if only I could just buy up everything on my list, but unfortunately I don't see that happening. While I may splurge and get one of the bags, 420$ for a trench coat seems a tad high.

Romp with me

I've never been a fan of rompers, actually I kind of hate them, but I was browsing around online earlier and ran across this one which I find myself sort of loving. I don't think I'd be able to pull it off at all though but it looks so flowy and comfortable for those hot summer days where you just lay around your backyard reading a book in a big floppy hat.

Does anyone else see clothing and then make a situation for it in their heads? or is that just me?

Spring is in the air.

Nothing much fashion wise today but the weather was amazing, I had my window opened for the first time since September, which caused me to start putting together my warm weather shopping list (that you'll see posted soon). Too bad I spent most of it hiding in my room from the old man who basically saw me in my underwear, when someone tells you there will be someone over in the morning working in the house you should remember so you don't walk down to get your morning yogurt in your skivvies, just a tip for everyone out there.

I also wanted to remind everyone about my little picture project, I'm still looking for submissions, it doesn't have to bee anything big, every little bit is greatly appreciated. :)

Catch up with the Ninja

So I finally got my computer back, with 2100$ of work done to it, including a new hard drive and logic board (which I didn't break) but thanks to my lovely mother who insisted I pay to get the three year extended warranty I only had to pay 5$ for service charges.
A lot has happened the past few weeks but I'll try not to bore you with too many details. Tyler and I have decided to focus on saving and trying to get a place of our own in the next year / year and a half so while I'll be spending less we've both agreed that now is the time to buy any big ticket items we've been craving. Which for me would be two really nice handbags, one in black and one in either white/cream or a bright cheery colour.
But here's some recent purchases from a week or so ago:

Italian leather boots which I've been living in since I got them and best of all they were on sale for 32$ from their regular price of 200.

Steve Madden black patent slingbacks, I told myself I'd stop myself from buying anymore black shoes but I loved how the little flowers peek out from skinny jeans and as silly as it sounds the lining is adorable.

And I'll leave you with some random outfits from the past couple weeks.
