007, Licence to kill.

In the fashion the the new year and remembering what's behind us I decided to go back and find my blog post from last new years eve.

"so here I am two hours before new years sitting on Jenna's bed, both of us with our laptops, watching POTC.

and it's two hours and eight minutes Jenna just reminded me.

but it makes me realize how much can change in a year, this time last year I barely talked to the girl, and now we're like forever attached to each other by a foot...or something.

and she just wondered when she'd have to do to get rid of me, probably move...but she thinks that wouldn't work either.

I grew up a lot this year.

I realized who my real friends were and started to distance myself from the people I don't think have a place in my life anymore, growing closer to the ones that do.

I fell in and out of like and more importantly into love.

Jenna say's one hour and fifty nine minutes.

I solidified my mind set that you shouldn't care what other people think of you.

I had some amazing adventures with some amazing people.

I made mistakes, not all of them I learned something from but what can you do.

I continued doing what I love.

I fractured bones, pulled muscles, screwed up my knee in a way that will most likely never be normal again.

and I found a reason to my insanity...ok not yet, but I'll keep working on it.

But to sum this up for those of you who won't read this whole thing.

To Jenna, Best friends forever, I love you babe.
Tyler, I love you, I don't know when this will end or if it will but you will always have a place in my heart.
And to my friends, you helped make me who i am today and the includes my faults.

Happy New Years everyone"

I can once again say, so much has changed in a year. While I should be spending it with my best friend, the subject never came up, she's with her boyfriend and while I gave her permission to date my ex I don't like who she has become from it.
But things change, people grow. You find out who and what truly matters in life and you learn not to take it for granted, things can change at a moments notice and what was there for you today might be gone by tomorrow.
I love my family, my fiance and who I am. And I can't wait to see what will come in the following year, be it good or bad.

Have a safe and happy New Year everyone.

You're ninja
-Michelle.

*Tear*

I just finished watching the fifth Harry Potter movie. And as much as I should hate Bellatrix Lestrange for killing off my beloved Sirius Black, whom I fell in love with the moment I read the third book, I couldn't help but think she was twistedly gorgeous.

Unfortunately the movie as a whole was rather a let down to me, the fact tat they didn't even get Sirius's death right was enough to make me hate it, they left out so many important details and unless you read the books I think you'd have been utterly lost.

More Snow.

I love snow and winter, I grew up in New Zealand and British Columbia, both not known for their snow, although they did get some on occasion. I've always been drawn to it and take every opportunity to play in it, whether it be a quick snowball fight on the way to a vehicle or spending hours bundled up on a toboggan hill or frozen pond. It's just romantic and clean and comforting. Although I do have to admit one can get tired of it after almost six months, but we have not neared that time frame yet this season so I am still currently in lust with the fluffy white.

And a little late but here's a sampling from my Christmas gifts this year.

Betsey Johnson ruffly mittens. I've yet to wear these yet but they're rather cute and puff out at the bottom and the colour is quite pretty in real life.
Pale pink cashmere gloves. Surprisingly warm for the weight.
Pink Burberry scarf. I love this, it doesn't scream I'm wearing designer and the randomness of the colours added with thin metallic threads running through it make it feel almost childish. Although my fiance says it reminds him of a jellyfish.
Slouchy beret. Same as my ivory one but in a deep raspberry colour.
Random Tiffany charms. Snowflake tag charm, Christmas tree charm and chain. Adorable but Tyler gave me a white gold necklace for Christmas so I've yet to wear them.

I didn't want to bore you with too many pictures so I picked the one that had a couple of my favorite things. I also got a purple swing coat with puffs at the bottom of each sleeve as well as an abundance of gift cards, chocolate, mittens and other random goodies.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

I woke up this morning to a fresh snowfall clinging to the trees, every limb, branch and berry had been covered in a sparkling white blanket. It's rare here to see the snow actually stick to trees, usually it's too cold and dry, slipping off everything but when it happens it seems perfect.

*Ignore the upside down person, he does that a lot.

Merry Christmas.

I'm back.

I have to say it was a pretty good night. We went to a nice little Asian place in town for supper, they have amazing spring rolls and ginger beef, yummy, eventually making it back to my place for cake and gifts.
I somehow managed to convince Tyler is skip the hockey game and go up to my room to watch It's a Wonderful life. And as a nice added bonus just as he was heading home it started to snow so we bundled up and headed outside for a short walk and quick dance under the street lamps.

Here's what I finally decided to wear, Ignore the crappy picture quality and awkward lookingness.

Black Skinny Jeans - Silver
Black Beaded cami - H&M
Silver Vneck sweater - Winners
Black 3/4 sleeve cropped cape sweater thing - Juliet
Black heeled boots - Some Italian place.

And now for some gifts.

Greys Anatomy Season One from my Brother, I finally have all three
25$ Sephora giftcard from my parents (it came with a cute little compact)
Nars Orgasm blush from my parents.

Kissing Penguins from Tyler
Cute pink Vneck sweater from Tyler
Pink WII control cover from Tyler
(we had a 40$ spending limit on birthdays)

And finally a Marc by Marc Jacobs lovely satchel from my parents. I originally wanted the stone colour but think my mom made the right choice with this one, the picture doesn't do it justice, it's an amazing dark caramel colour and the leather is so luscious. Is it bad that's it's only my second favorite gift next to the kissing penguins? either way I love love love it.

But seeing as it's not almost 2:30am I'm heading to bed, finishing Christmas shopping tomorrow since I finally figure out what to get the boy, now hopefully I'll be able to find it.

Happy Birthday Dear Ninja.

That's right, I'm finally nineteen. Which really means nothing since I became legal last year and am still technically a teenager, although now when I go to BC I can go to bars, but I don't drink so I see no real point in it.
I'm planning to go out for supper with my family and Tyler tonight so expect pictures late on.

Hockey in the headlines, don't hurt me.

As an avid hockey fan I feel the need to address the latest news regarding the talented, and I use that term loosely, Chris Simon and his record breaking thirty day suspension.
The video pretty much says it all. Around the thirteen second mark you can see Simon pick up his skate and proceed to stomp on the ankle of Jarko Ruutu.

Double header

Excuse the late update, been a busy busy little Ninja. I finally started sorting and wrapping the massive pile of gifts in the corner of my room but it seems like a never ending task and I still need to finish shopping for my brother and Tyler, I never find that spark of inspiration when browsing, hopefully tomorrow. But here's a couple of outfits from the past week.

Lazy day. I love purple and green together, I also know ripped jeans may be out but I still love mine, not to mention they're the comfiest jeans I own.
Purple beater with lace trim around chest - Aritzia
Black V-neck sweater - Aritzia
Darkwash Straight leg Jeans - Buffalo
Green pashmina scarf - Winners
Silver rose bangle - Vintage

Black lace cami - H&M
Grey/white striped V-neck sweater - Abercrombie
Grey 3/4 sleeve cardi - Aritzia
Black skinny jeans - Off the Wall
Black convertible boots/hightops - Jump for the people
Silver/pearl charm necklace

Blue-ba-ba-do

It's been a hectic few days, between vet visits, birthdays and other randomness. Which reminds me I need to get to the bank tonight. But here's better pictures of that coat as promised.

And I had a horrible incident the other night involving me rushing out of the house, a flat iron being left on and my favorite cashmere sweater. It all added up to a brownish yellow mark on the shoulder which I doubt my cleaning lady is going to be able to remove. It's positioned so I'd still be able to wear it with a cardigan over top but it's a quite prominent mark unfortunately. Needless to say I broke my rule about no self purchasing starting two weeks before my birthday and bought a pair of grey cashmere gloves.

My fiance thinks I'm crazy to be so upset over a sweater and it quite possibly is, but it was basically perfect in every way possible.

Two in a row?

Ah it's been a weird day. Nothing seems to be going right and I miss Tyler, but he's not feeling great so I'm letting him sleep since he's old tomorrow (turning 21). Which reminds me that I still have to wrap his gift, but I don't see him till tomorrow night so I have tons of time. I got him a puma jacket and transformer Mr. Potatohead for those who care to know.
I noticed today that Christmas is really straining my bank account this year, never get engaged your gift giving doubles, plus the fact that I've been unemployed for almost six months doesn't help. I dropped under the one grand mark for the first time since Highschool. Although one of my friends noticed her account has a whopping 6$ earlier tonight and is now thanking god for Sunday paydays.

But today I went to the local greenhouse to pick up some things for one of our trees, it's done all in golds, really pretty, I'll get a picture sooner or later and saw an absolutely gorgeous handbag there, really soft leather with a perfect buckle detailing, I'm kicking myself for not picking it up now, it was only 30$ too.

Although the entire day wasn't crappy, that coat I was talking about in my last post came in the mail! Better pictures to come later, it was getting dark by the time I attempted pictures, plus I left my remote at a shoot so you'll have to deal with mirror pictures for awhile.

And I decided to surprise everyone, including myself, and post an outfit two days in a row. I was going for comfort again, though I think I'm finally beating this cold.

Black lace cami under beige oversized cardi.
Darkwash skinnies.
Black ankle boots.

but I'm off to finish watching the oilers game, night.

Finally an outfit.

Albeit not my best, but still. Seeing as I woke up to snow that was waiting to be shoveled and I've been fighting a cold for the past few days I wanted to be cozy. But I was also tired of jeans and sweaters so I needed a compromise.
Flannel shirt, stolen from my mothers closet.
White crocheted cardi.
Darkwash skinny jeans.
Paired with tall brown ugly boots (UGGS) and Brown jacket for all outside labor.

I also have a huge love hate relationship with online shopping. I love how easy it is and the selection but I hate shipping costs into Canada.
I noticed that a coat I'd been eyeing was on sale (99$ down from 230$) so I decided to order it, only to find out shipping was an added 45$ and not just because I was ordering a larger item. It's a flat rate 45$ weather you ordered shoes or a nail file. I still placed the order since the price was decent either way and added some little bits and bobbles for Christmas gifts, to balance out the high shipping cost a bit but it still seemed a tad ridiculous. especially since I can order six or seven items from little indie boutiques and shipping is half the price of an order a quarter of the size from these huge chains.
Not to mention the waiting is a bit of a pain, I'm still waiting on two orders I've placed in the past couple weeks, one being the coat and other being random Christmas gifts and while I know there's still plenty of time for it to get here there's always that little part of you freaking out about it being late.

Fiveteen days.

I think I'm in a fashion slump, I blame the weather though, it's hard to think about what you're wearing when you know that as soon as you step out your front door there's dry -20 degree weather and drifts of snow waiting for you. But the fact that Christmas is fast approaching is enough to put me in a better mood, everywhere you go lights are twinkling, the smell of wood fireplaces are in the air and fresh baked goodies are starting to be handed to you wherever you go.
The only downside to the holidays is the stress it seems to place on many people, I think I've done a good job of avoiding that this year though. My shopping is almost finished and while I have many things left to do and plans with friends but I've made room for it all with enough free time to not feel overwhelmed. My to-do list now only consists of a few items.
-Finish shopping (Should take less then two days)
-Decorate the tree (Which I plan to do in a few moments)
-Christmas baking (My mom took the week before Christmas off from work so we'll be baking up a storm)
-Deliver random cards (I leave Christmas cards in random mailboxes around where I live, I hope they may brighten up at least one persons day, or it could come off as creepy, either way it's turned into tradition)
-Clean, Clean, Clean (more then likely ongoing until company arrives Christmas eve)
-Deliver Gifts (rather self explanatory I think)

Christmas, Christmas time is here.

which means wishlist time, well actually it's more of a Birthday slash Christmas list since they decided to fall two days apart from each other.

Neverland

In short I've had a bloody shitty night to a rather unimpressive day. Leading me to sit my ass down on the bed with a cup of tea and piece of cake to watch Finding Neverland. A little bit of Johnny Depp can fix anything in my humble opinion, plus I ended up being inspired by some of the clothes.

I'm oddly in love with this Jacket, the length, collar detailing, just gives off a whimsical pirate vibe but in a good way.
You can't see the full outfit but it's a high waisted pencil skirt with button up blouse, something I've always been attracted to but don't think I have the figure to pull off well.
And finally the hats! I have a slightly unhealthy obsession to old hats, I have a small collection from my grandma which I'm still trying to find a wear to wear.

Gossip Girl for the GAP.

Alright so these aren't "official" GAP ads but they sure make me crave some bright and cozy winter neck wear.
